Students in Year 7 will study the following curriculum outline, in line with the mandatory requirements outlined by the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) for each Key Learning Area.

The period allocation listed is based on a fortnightly timetable with period length of 75-minutes.

Curriculum Overviews are provided at the start of each term, outlining the content being taught in each subject. These overviews are sent to parents to keep them informed and engaged in their child's learning.

Exploring ideas, creating connections, celebrating achievement.

Showcase is a future-focused elective subject designed to foster curiosity, creativity, and collaboration among students. As part of this course, students undertake project-based learning that allows them to explore topics of personal interest while building key skills in critical thinking, communication, and teamwork.

The course encourages student agency and cross-curricular connections, helping young people develop confidence and independence as learners. A highlight of the program is a community showcase event, where students present their work to peers, staff, and families—celebrating both their individual progress and collective achievements.

A copy of the Showcase Course Booklet with all of the subjects on offer can be found here.

Assessment is an important part of learning, helping students show what they know and guiding teachers in how best to support them. These Assessment Procedures explain how assessment works at Wentworth Point High School, with separate versions for students and parents to ensure clear, age-appropriate information and support.
